Dennis F. Wiesner received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Texas in 1970. He is currently employed by H-E-B, a Texas Food-Drug chain, as Senior Director for Privacy, Pharmacy, and Governmental Affairs with responsibilities for company privacy policies and compliance along with pharmacy regulatory, government, and industry affairs. Mr. Wiesner’s career has included leadership and responsibilities in all aspects of community retail pharmacy including systems and technology, managed care, procurement and logistics, legal and regulatory affairs, and store and corporate operations. In 2004, he received a Certification as an Information Privacy Professional from the International Privacy Professionals Association.

Mr. Wiesner is an active participant in numerous professional organizations including the Texas Pharmacy Association, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, the Texas Federation of Drug Stores, the Texas Pharmacy Foundation, and the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs. He has served as a Board Trustee for the Texas Pharmacy Foundation, as President of the Texas Federation of Drug Stores, and a representative to the Texas Pharmacy Congress. He currently serves on the Policy Council for the National Association of Chain Drug stores.

Mr. Wiesner’s community service includes active participation in church ministries at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Austin, past work with Junior Achievement, and serving on numerous government panels including the Texas Pan Flu Sub-Committee, the Texas Preparedness Council’s Blue Ribbon Pharmaceutical Task Force, and Texas State Board of Pharmacy task force on Counseling.
